Who are CTVets250?
Our Mission
The America 250 Connecticut Veterans Coalition (CTVets250) is a collaboration of veterans from across the state working to commemorate the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States by elevating the voices and stories of those who served. From the Revolutionary War to today’s global missions, Connecticut has always answered the call.
Connecticut Veterans Foundation, Inc.
The Connecticut Veterans Foundation, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation exists to honor, preserve, and promote the legacy of Connecticut’s veterans and military history as part of the United States’ 250th anniversary commemoration and beyond.
Through public education, historical preservation, and community engagement, the Foundation will:
– Develop and promote a statewide Connecticut Revolutionary War Tourism Trail featuring military heritage sites to foster public understanding of Connecticut’s role in the founding and defense of the nation.
– Support the production and broadcast of Connecticut-focused segments of national historical programming, including underwriting content for public television and hosting community events for veterans and active-duty personnel;
– Implement the Veterans Memory Program (VMP), a storytelling and workforce development initiative that empowers veterans—especially student veterans—to share their service experiences, preserve oral histories, and gain meaningful employment and training opportunities;
– Advance public appreciation of veterans’ contributions through educational programming, public events, and partnerships that ensure Connecticut’s military legacy is honored not only through monuments, but through living memory and civic participation.
– Engage in any other charitable, educational, or historical activities related to veterans and military history that are consistent with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
